Oakland County Injury Attorney Discusses Nursing Home Negligence

Hello. My name is John Alexander and I am a personal injury attorney practicing in the entire state of Michigan with offices in Oakland County. Today I want to talk to you about nursing home negligence. Many of us have friends, family and loved ones in nursing homes and the people there deserve to get good treatment and they have the same rights that you or I have when we go to see our primary care doctor, or surgeon or things like that. Some common things that happen in nursing homes are decubitus ulcers. Those are those really big ulcers that can appear on somebody’s leg, or buttocks or arm, if they’re not turned in their bed or rotated every 2 hours, they can get infected and cause sepsis, and even death.

Other accidents happen in the nursing home where the nursing home staff fails to assist somebody during ambulation and they drop them and they hit their head, break their bones, things like that. You can make claim for these things against the nursing home on behalf of your loved one. Other things that can happen in a nursing home are wrong medication.

If someone is being given wrong medication, they can have serious complications, death can even ensue.
